The Side of Getty Facing the 101

In the words from Wikipedia, William Blake was an English poet, painter, and print maker of the Romantic Age. This past Sunday in Sierra Madre here in Los Angeles county, at a meetup with friends and family, I had a conversation at the dinner table about how excited I was to see the published work with illustrations of the graphic designer and poet William Blake at the Getty Museum a year ago in January of 2024.

At the time of talking about William Blake, I could not help myself but to recite his poem "The Sick Rose" that I first learned from high school. Since that conversation and recitation, I have been motivated to do a recording of the short poem. The recording has four takes of the same poem. Each take is slightly different with each consecutive take being faster than the previous one. Enjoy!
